About the Gerstle Park Neighborhood Association

The purpose of the Gerstle Park Neighborhood Association (GPNA) is to draw a wide diversity of people to work together and partner with our community and local government to enhance and protect the character and livability of our neighborhood. We are NOT a home ownership associationmembership is open to anyone who lives (or operates a business) in our neighborhood!

We are an all volunteer board working to better our neighborhood – organizing events to help bring people together, communicating important information and issues, caring for the park, and celebrating our neighbors and where we live and play! We would love your participation in our events and work days – contact us if you are interested in volunteering.

Our specific goals and objectives include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Represent the neighborhood in its dealings with the City of San Rafael and its departments.
  • Be a catalyst and provide a forum for the discussion of neighborhood planning community development issues.
  • Communicate pertinent issues to the residents and businesses of the neighborhood though our newsletter, website, events, and annual meeting.
  • Assist members in measuring the impact of city and county planning on our neighborhood.
  • Organize seasonal events that draw our neighbors together and strengthen our sense of community.
  • Focus on the issues and needs of our neighborhood in order to identify projects the GPNA can manage and ideas that we can promote.
